The Grapes were harvested from vineyards planted in 2000 and 2012/2013 with an elevation of between 100m-130m. The soil is comprised of brown and red gravel, which is high in mineral content, and lies above decomposed granite, with a depth of 2 meters before reaching clay. Generally consistent performance of wines on these soils over seasons, ensure good quality wines.
The Grapes, handpicked during the 2nd & 3rd week of March, were wild yeast fermented for 8 days in open top cement tanks. The mid fermentation temperatures didn’t exceed 28 degrees. Thereafter matured in French oak for 15 Months, with 20% being new oak. The wine was bottled unfiltered and unfined.
Blackberries wrapped in dark chocolate are abundant in this most elegant and stylish Cabernet. Topped off with superior fruit expression and structured tannins. An enticing wine and excellent food partner.
